Crane Repair, Maintenance & Refurbishment

Mechanical · Electrical · Body & Paint.

Millennium Power (MPOM) provides complete crane maintenance, repair, inspection, and body & paint refurbishment for contractors, industrial facilities, ports, and rental fleets across Dammam and the Eastern Province.

Cranes are the most safety-critical equipment on any industrial site. A failed hydraulic hose on a truck causes a delay; a failed slew brake or wire rope on a 60-tonne crane causes a fatality. Our workshop in Al-Sinaiyah, Dammam handles crane servicing to that reality — mechanical repair, electrical and control-system diagnostics, and body repair, paint, and structural refurbishment — under one roof, with one accountable team, and to a documented standard that stands up to Aramco, HCIS, and third-party audit.

Every crane that enters our workshop, or that we service on-site, is diagnosed and inspected before repair work begins. Using Jaltest and Nexiq platforms for the diesel drivetrain, plus manufacturer-specific tools for load moment indicators, PLC control panels, and radio remote systems, our technicians identify the actual failure before parts are ordered. You receive an itemized quotation before any work begins, and a written service report and inspection record after completion.

Whether the request is a single hydraulic repair on a mobile crane, an overhead crane’s annual thorough examination, or a full structural refurbishment program for a port facility’s crane fleet, the standard is the same: proper diagnosis, genuine or OEM-approved parts, safety-critical workmanship, and complete documentation — because in crane work, there is no acceptable alternative.

Mechanical Services

Complete mechanical repair and preventive maintenance for cranes across the categories above:

Drum service, gearbox repair, brake system (holding and service brakes), hoist motor mounting, and full rebuild of hoist units — including load testing before recommissioning.

Wire rope inspection to standards, with condition documentation. Rope replacement using correct construction and lay direction, correct termination (splices, wedge sockets, swaged sockets), and post-installation load verification. Wire rope is often the first place a crane fails — we treat it accordingly.

Slewing bearing inspection, backlash measurement, lubrication service, slew motor and brake service, and complete slewing ring replacement when required.

Telescopic boom cylinders, lift cylinders, and derrick cylinders — seal replacement, cylinder rebuild, hose replacement to correct pressure rating, and hydraulic pump service. Boom section wear-pad replacement to prevent structural fatigue.

Outrigger cylinder repair, jack pad service, level indicator repair, and outrigger interlock verification — the difference between a stable lift and a tipped crane.

Engine, transmission, axle, and brake service for the road-going carrier of mobile cranes. We service the entire crane, not just the lifting equipment.

Visual and dye-penetrant (DPT) inspection of critical welds, structural weld repair by certified welders, and boom section structural repair when damage is present. Load-bearing repairs are documented and re-tested before the crane returns to service.

Scheduled preventive maintenance by operating hours, calendar intervals, or lift cycles — for a single crane or across an entire fleet on a coordinated program.

Body Repair, Paint & Structural Refurbishment

Cranes take punishment that road vehicles do not — boom section impact damage, cab strikes, corrosion in coastal port environments, and abrasion from cables, rigging, and loads. Our body & paint department is equipped for industrial-scale crane refurbishment:

Boom section repair & repainting

Structural repair & repainting of telescopic & lattice boom sections. Corrosion removal, weld repair, primer & multi-coat industrial paint system application - to a finish that stands up to Eastern Province conditions.

Cab repair & refurbishment

Operator cab straightening, glass replacement, control-panel refinishing, seat replacement, & full interior repaint. For mobile cranes, this includes carrier cab work as a separate discipline from operator cab.

Chassis & carrier refurbishment

Full chassis strip-and-refinish for mobile cranes going back to fleet service or being prepared for resale. Anti-corrosion undercoating, structural spot repair, and complete carrier repainting.

Anti-corrosion coating (critical for port cranes)

Salt-laden Eastern Province coastal air destroys standard crane paint. Our industrial coating program - sandblast to SA 2.5, epoxy primer, polyurethane topcoat - is the same specification used on offshore structures. Essential for cranes serving Dammam, Ras Tanura, Dhahran port & industrial zones.

Ladder, platform, walkway & handrail repair

Structural repair & re-coating of access ladders, working platforms, walkways, and handrails — which are the components that fail Aramco and HCIS safety audits most often on aging cranes.

Counterweight & outrigger cosmetic repair

Counterweight cleaning, priming, & repainting to restore visible fleet standards. Outrigger housing repair & refinishing on mobile cranes.

Fleet livery & rental market refurbishment

For rental crane operators, a well-presented crane arriving on site is a commercial advantage. We provide batch repaint programs to restore fleet livery consistency — scheduled so only part of the fleet is off hire at any given time.

Electrical, Control Systems & Instrumentation

A modern crane’s reliability & safety depend on its electrical & control systems as much as its steel. Our electrical department covers the full stack from PLC control panels down to individual sensors:

  • Load Moment Indicator (LMI) & Rated Capacity Limiter (RCL) — diagnosis, calibration, & repair of the safety system that prevents overload and structural failure. This system is non-negotiable on any crane in service.
  • Anti-two-block system — inspection, sensor replacement, & function verification. A failed anti-two-block system has caused more crane accidents in Saudi Arabia than any other single fault.
  • PLC control panels and VFDs — Siemens, Allen-Bradley, & OEM-integrated PLC diagnosis & program adjustment. Variable Frequency Drive service for hoist, trolley, & long-travel motors on overhead cranes. Drive fault codes decoded, parameters corrected, & drives replaced where required.
  • Boom length, angle, & slew encoders — sensor replacement, cable repair, & calibration to restore accurate lift geometry data to the LMI system.
  • Radio remote control (RRC) systems — HBC, Scanreco, Hetronic, & OEM systems: transmitter diagnostics, receiver repair, frequency licensing verification, & battery/charger service.
  • Traction & hoist motor repair — AC & DC motor overhaul, brush replacement, bearing service, & full rewind through partner facilities where required.
  • Anti-collision, limit switches, & safety interlocks — inspection & repair of end-of-travel limits, anti-collision systems for adjacent overhead cranes, & emergency stop circuitry.
  • Wiring, festoon, & control cabling — festoon system repair, trailing cable replacement, junction box service, & control wiring diagnosis on legacy cranes.

Our Expert Technicians

At Millennium Power, our technicians are trained across the three disciplines a complete crane service requires — mechanical and hydraulic repair, control system and electrical diagnostics, and structural body & paint refurbishment. On top of that, our senior technicians are experienced in the inspection and certification work that regulated crane operation requires.

The team works to written procedures: every fault is diagnosed with instrumentation before parts are ordered, every repair is quoted before it begins, and every completed job is documented in a service report and — where applicable — an inspection or load-test certificate.

Based in Al-Sinaiyah, Dammam, the team supports contractors who need a mobile crane back on-site the same day, industrial facilities that cannot lose overhead crane capacity, ports and terminals that operate 24/7, and rental fleet operators who need consistent standards across every unit they own. From an emergency call-out to a multi-year fleet contract, the working standard does not change: find the real cause, fix it permanently, prove it works, and put it in writing.

Our Capability Edge

Three things differentiate MPOM in the Eastern Province crane maintenance market:

  • A crane failure is almost never in only one system. A hoist limit fault triggers a control panel error which masks a wire rope inspection finding. Our workshop covers the mechanical, hydraulic, structural, electrical, control, & inspection disciplines under one roof, which means we identify the actual root cause instead of the visible symptom - & the crane goes back into service properly repaired, not just superficially patched.

  • Most Saudi workshops specialize in either mobile cranes (chassis-based, hydraulic, diesel drivetrain) or industrial overhead cranes (PLC-controlled, VFD-driven, structural steel). MPOM services both, which matters for contractors & facility operators whose crane fleet mixes truck-mounted, crawler, & overhead equipment. One supplier for the whole crane inventory, one accountable contract.

  • MPOM serves generator installations at critical facilities, heavy truck fleets, & industrial maintenance contracts where every job produces a written report. That same documentation discipline applies to crane work - which is why the reports we issue are ready for HCIS audit, Aramco vendor review, insurance renewal, & contractor pre-qualification review, without extra work on your side.

Frequently Asked Questions

MPOM provides complete crane service across three departments: mechanical (hoist, winch, hydraulic, structural welding, drivetrain), electrical and control systems (LMI/RCL, PLC panels, VFDs, radio remote controls, encoders, safety interlocks), and body repair & painting (boom section repair, cab refurbishment, chassis refinishing, industrial anti-corrosion coating). We also perform annual thorough examinations, wire rope inspections, and post-repair load testing. All disciplines operate in one workshop in Al-Sinaiyah, Dammam, with on-site service dispatched across the Eastern Province.

We service major crane brands including Tadano, Liebherr, Terex Demag, Grove, Manitowoc, Kato, XCMG, Sany, Zoomlion, and Kobelco for mobile and crawler cranes; Konecranes, Demag, Street Crane, and Kito for industrial overhead cranes; Potain and Liebherr tower cranes; and HIAB, Palfinger, Fassi, and Cormach for truck-mounted loader cranes. Our diagnostic and control-system tools cover the platforms used across European, American, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese equipment, so capability is not limited to specific makes.

Yes — both, in one workshop. Mobile crane service covers the diesel carrier, boom hydraulics, outriggers, and LMI system. Overhead crane service covers PLC control panels, VFDs, hoist and long-travel motors, festoon systems, and structural bridge components. Having both capabilities in one supplier is a genuine differentiator in the Eastern Province market.

Yes. We perform annual thorough examinations, wire rope inspections, structural inspections including dye-penetrant testing on critical welds, LMI and safety system verification, and post-repair load testing at rated and overload capacity. Every inspection is documented in a written report suitable for HCIS audit, Aramco vendor review, insurance renewal, and contractor pre-qualification review. Inspection can be scheduled as a standalone service or bundled into a maintenance contract so nothing is missed.

Crane body work covers structural repair (boom section repair and repainting, cab straightening and refinishing, chassis refurbishment on mobile cranes), industrial-grade anti-corrosion coating for cranes operating in coastal and port environments, and repair of ladders, platforms, walkways, and handrails that fail safety audits. Structural repairs are documented and re-inspected before the crane returns to service. For rental fleet operators, we offer batch repaint programs to restore fleet livery without taking the entire fleet off-hire at once.

Yes. For overhead cranes installed in factories, warehouses, and workshops — and for tower cranes on active construction sites — removal to a workshop is often not practical. We dispatch mobile teams across Dammam, Khobar, Dhahran, Jubail, and Al-Ahsa for on-site preventive maintenance, breakdown response, and inspection work. More extensive component overhaul returns to the workshop for correct execution.

Every crane is connected to our diagnostic platforms for full-system fault reading before any repair is quoted. For LMI and control system faults, we use manufacturer-specific tools to read parameters and re-calibrate sensors. For hydraulic faults, we use pressure and flow test equipment to identify whether the issue is the pump, control valve, cylinder, or hose. For PLC and VFD faults on overhead cranes, we use programming interfaces to read fault codes and correct drive parameters. This diagnostic-first approach identifies the failed component rather than replacing parts by trial and error — which matters more on cranes than on any other equipment we service.

Yes. We service rental crane fleets, contractor-owned crane inventories, port terminal cranes, refinery and industrial facility overhead cranes, and construction project tower cranes under structured maintenance contracts. Contracts include scheduled preventive maintenance, priority breakdown response, on-site dispatch, bundled annual thorough examinations, and per-crane service history documentation. Mechanical, electrical, and body & paint work are all covered under the same contract, so one supplier is accountable for the whole crane.
